Privacy Policy

RolePilot collects only the data necessary to provide our service:

• Account Information: Email address and authentication data (via Google OAuth or email/password)
• Profile Data: Resume text and preferences you voluntarily provide
• Job Applications: Job listings you save, including title, company, location, and description
• Generated Content: Cover letters and other content created using our AI

We use your data exclusively to:

• Generate personalized cover letters and resume suggestions
• Sync your saved jobs across devices
• Track your application status
• Improve our AI models (anonymized, aggregated data only)

The RolePilot browser extension:

• Only activates on job sites you visit (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor)
• Does not track your general browsing activity
• Stores data locally in your browser until you sign in
• Syncs securely with your account via encrypted connection

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

• Data is hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest
• All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• We implement Row Level Security (RLS) — you can only access your own data
• API keys are stored server-side, never exposed to clients

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Database and authentication
• Google Gemini: AI text generation (your data is not used to train their models)
• Netlify: Hosting
• Google Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics (can be disabled)

You have full control over your data:

• Access: View all your stored data in Settings
• Export: Download your applications as CSV
• Delete: One-click account deletion removes all your data
• Opt-out: Use "Don't Save" mode for sensitive applications

We retain your data only while your account is active. Upon deletion:

• All personal data is permanently removed within 30 days
• Anonymized, aggregated statistics may be retained

RolePilot is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
